ABOUT

Latvian for Beginners by LTApps is an educational tool designed to facilitate language acquisition through engaging visual, auditory, and tactile experiences. It aims to support learners of all ages in developing listening, reading, and vocabulary skills efficiently and naturally. The application serves as a valuable supplement to traditional learning methods such as textbooks and is particularly beneficial for educators seeking to foster motivated and accelerated learning among students.

The course comprises ten thematic lessons, each targeting essential vocabulary, expressions, and grammatical structures applicable in everyday scenarios, travel contexts, and classroom environments for beginner learners across generations. The initial interface displays all lesson topics, which collectively introduce approximately 315 new words and phrases.

WHAT'S COVERED IN EACH LESSON?

Each lesson addresses specific language components as follows. It is recommended to progress sequentially since subsequent lessons build upon previously acquired grammatical concepts:

• Essentials – fundamental phrases, nouns, personal pronouns, affirmatives and negatives
• Food – plural nouns, basic sentences with “I like”
• Numbers – numerals and quantitative expressions
• Colors – descriptive adjectives
• Shopping – relevant nouns, verbs, and interrogatives such as “How much?”
• Time – telling and asking about time using a clock
• Travel – positive and negative verbs, questions with “Where?” and “How?”
• Occupations (Work and Hobbies) – personal pronouns, gender distinctions, singular/plural forms, questions with “What?”
• Nature – simple sentences employing positive and negative verb forms
• All – this module functions as an assessment and final review to evaluate individual progress before and after completing the course.

STRUCTURE OF LESSONS

Each lesson introduces new material through the “New Words” section. Subsequently, learners can reinforce their skills through dedicated reading and listening challenge activities within each lesson.

POINTS & OVERALL PROGRESS

Throughout each lesson, users earn points by completing reading and listening exercises. These points contribute to an overall progress indicator displayed via a progress bar on the main interface. Progress is saved within the app, allowing users to retake challenges; point tallies are reset upon retaking challenges but continue to influence overall progress metrics.

CHANGING YOUR LOCAL LANGUAGE

If supported in the current version, users may change their study language via Settings > General > Language & Region. Select the preferred language under iPhone (or iPad) Language. After making changes, return to LTApps. Please note that not all languages are supported for study; if a selected language is unavailable, the app defaults to English.
